Praise Jesus! Rev. Moales Hosts Certificate Of Occupancy Party

Ken Moales
Ken Moales.

The Rev. Ken Moales, president of the Board of Education juggling all kinds of issues at his East End church, hosted a certificate of occupancy party today (Sunday) rolling out the goods for his peeps after what he describes as a week of miracles, according to his latest social cam announcement, following revelations his church had no CO. Quick work by Moales and city officials (or was it miracles?) provides CO. Check out Moales’ video invite here. The Rev. certainly has a way with words (and spin).

  1. Thank you, Jesus … I ain’t got time for dat. The measure of a man’s success is by the number of enemies he has? Really? I was going for a cold pop but but I smelt a fire. I thought someone was Barbequing … I ain’t got time for dat. I ain’t got time for dat … Oh Lord …

  2. Off topic … can someone explain why News 12 is stating Steelepointe–Bass Pro is going to be delayed until 2015? And of all the individuals who could have addressed it, we had Lydia Martinez. No Mayor, Governor, Congressman, Senator … WE had Lydia Martinez … What the hell is going on? I suggest Paul Vallas battles get off the front page ad nauseam and push the Bass Pro project. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS AND LIKE THE MOVIE GROUND HOG DAY, WILL WE EVER BREAK OUT OF THIS REDUNDANT SCENARIO?

  3. Since the church’s financial plight was made public, Moales said new financial backers, big and small, have also stepped up.

Last Wednesday, an anonymous donor gave $35,000 to pay off one of the church’s smaller bills. And a Catholic friend has pledged $5 a week to the church until the mortgage is paid in full, Moales said.

The church is also undertaking an ambitious fundraiser, with a goal of raising $1 million by Sept. 21, the third anniversary of Bishop Kenneth Moales Sr.’s death. That, Moales said, was the lowest point in the church’s history.

    1. I love the part about the friend with the $5 a week. It is probably someone who can ill afford to part with the five dollars and Moales, a sorry excuse for a clergyman, has no problem taking it. I can’t wait until Moales is doing the perp walk shuffle.

  4. Similar to how they pulled off the temporary C.O. granted to Moales, B’port leaders, supported by Malloy, will ensure the Bass Pro Shop has a “soft” opening in B’port a couple of weeks before the 2014 election.

Malloy stands with B’port’s leadership because they get him votes. Period.

When wealthy towns in 2014 vote overwhelmingly for his opponent, Malloy’s re-election hopes will rely on Bridgeport and other CT cities. This is nothing new. This is, though, a fact that lands squarely in the face of Mayor Finch’s us-against-them statement in April 2012 at a meeting in Black Rock (see CT Post):

“Connecticut is a government of the suburbs, by the suburbs, for the suburbs. They do not care about the cities. The deck is stacked against us.”

Our fellow voters in CT should care … and know more so they care more … so they can see what becomes of their tax dollars invested in the cities … and the kind of wasteful nonsense that is permitted.

    2. Wendy Lecker’s editorial, “Vallas saga offers teachable moment on abusing power”
    www .stamfordadvocate.com/news/article/Lecker-Vallas-saga-offers-teachable-moment-on-4689763.php

    From Lecker’s piece:

“Bridgeport officials had ample time to plan a smooth transition from Vallas before school resumes in September, but stubbornly refused. In his appeal, Vallas now claims his departure will result in chaos. If the district cannot run without his presence, he must not be an effective manager. And if there is chaos, it is caused by the board’s unconscionable negligence.

“The Vallas saga is the age-old tale of abuse of privilege by the powerful and well-connected. That is the story of American education reform. One can only hope that when the Connecticut Supreme Court hears this case, it will once again remind Bridgeport officials, as it did in 2012, that no one is above the law.”

  5. I’m happy I’m an atheist, these black pastors are the biggest crooks. They will take a poor man’s last dollar. You ever notice what these pastors drive and where they live and their churches are in the middle of filth. I wish my fellow black man would wake up and see what church really is and it is nothing more than a business.

      1. Yeah, all reputable African American reverends create videos from inside their car while parked at Six Flags announcing huge news which turns out to be another line of bull and spin. That’s my kind of preacher. Praise The Lord!
