It’s not every day someone travels thousands of miles into a war zone to deliver suds for buds. John “Chickie” Donohue snuck into the madness of Vietnam to locate three enlisted friends, presenting beers to each of them. On Veterans Day this video produced by former Major League player and manager Bobby Valentine’s production company reunites friends 47 years later to recall those dangerous and zany moments of friendship bonded by beers.
Directed by Andrew Muscato, “This video is dedicated to all of the men and women who have served our country.”

Wow! Great story! Three Cheers and 24 Beers!!!
Thanks to all who have served and continue to serve our country.
Thanks to my fellow veterans. If you look at those who are still living, those who served during World War II are now in their upper 80s and those who were in the Korean War are in their 80s and those from the Vietnam War would be in their late 60s and 70s. Veterans are dying fast every day and it seems as a country we just care about them.
My father was a WWII veteran, wounded at the Battle of Okinawa, 9 April 1945. He was a Second Lieutenant leading a platoon on the island of Leyti. An uncle saw combat in North Africa and Southern Italy. A cousin saw combat in Vietnam. Veterans run in my family.
