Hadley Joins Affordable Housing Group

Nancy Hadley, the city’s former director of economic development, has joined Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut. From Mutual Housing Association:

Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut’s (MHA) Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Nancy L. Hadley as its new Executive Director.

Founded in 1990, MHA’s affordable housing communities serve more than 1,000 Fairfield County residents and are located in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Stamford, and Trumbull–with plans for senior housing in Wilton.

To date, MHA has completed over 500 housing units, with 100 new units in development, representing more than $150 million in community investment.

Hadley, who will succeed long-time leader Larry Kluetsch, comes to MHA with extensive experience in all aspects of affordable housing development and a strong commitment to the residents of Southwestern Connecticut.

“Nancy brings an incredibly broad range of experiences to MHA, and we are looking forward to carrying on our important work under her leadership,” said MHA Board Chair Lynn Haig.

Hadley’s professional experience includes positions as Director of the Office of Planning and Economic Development for the City of Bridgeport; Deputy Commissioner of the Westchester County Planning Department; Assistant Commissioner at the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal; Director of Community Development Programs for the City of Stamford; and as CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

Most recently, Hadley served as President of The Hadley Group LLC, where she consulted in the areas of real estate development and change management with clients in the corporate, governmental and nonprofit sectors.

“I am thrilled and honored to be working with Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut in its goals of meeting the housing needs of our neighbors,” Hadley said. “Under the leadership of Larry Kluetsch, MHA has helped changed the landscape for affordable housing, and I look forward to building on his record of accomplishment.”

Third Sector New England’s Executive Transitions Program, led by Transition Consultant Donna Zalichin, conducted the search for MHA’s new Executive Director.

Hadley’s appointment is effective January 1, 2012.
