Wise move on the Mayor’s part.
There’s a definite stay indoors feeling in the air and a citywide You Tube channel plays to that theme. Nothing says “I care” more than a frequently-updated message aimed at city residents.
One of the purpose of these videos was to make the taxpayers and residents of Bridgeport aware that of what firefighters and the police will be wearing when they respond to a possible Coronavirus incident, it would have very easy to do a show and tell by having a firefighter and a police officer wearing the gloves, the shield and the mask and any other protective equipment that they would wearing when resident open their door to let the firefighter and police officer into their home, especially in not scarring young children. It would have been nice if there was a female firefighter sitting with the fire chief just like the police did.
They may as well cancel CC meetings till further notice also, no sense taking the chance, besides, they only last 10 -15 mins and nothing gets done anyway, no loss there.Just let Joe/ Mario do what they want, what’s the difference at this point?
Open Accurate Communications and Transparency are the cornerstones to good governance. A YOUTUBE channel as a conduit to disseminate both Good and Bad news about health situations that may be welcome or vexing is a good start. Firsthand true and accurate updates on the progress or regress of City Business as a standard method of conducting business.
Taxpayers would also welcome “True and Accurate” announcements on other subjects ie;
– Explanations of why/how they are paying massive ongoing fees for “Outside Legal Council”.
– Progress on Federal investigations that are costing Taxpayers the above $$$$$$$$$$$$.
– Implementation of an Action Plan* to prevent future Abuse of Public Trust.
– Good Faith enforcements of the City Charter*, Oaths of Office, Codes of Ethics, Ordinances.
– Prevent abuse of our City Budget and using it as a “SUNSHINE FUND” for cronies’ misdeeds.
Fill in the rest of the blanks of this endless list_____________________________________ etc.
A YOUTUBE channel covering all of the above and more would be most welcome!
Robert, Robert, Robert, WAKE UP, you’re dreaming, you’re not at Disneyland or Disney World.

It’s a fast world we live in but the mayor is keeping pace with the shifting “news-scape”.
NEW HAVEN: “Half-Occupancy Emergency Order Issued”
by Staff | Mar 13, 2020 4:48 pm
Movie theaters, restaurants, bars, and all other local establishments that can fit 16 more people inside at a time have been ordered by the mayor to cut their occupancy levels in half starting Sunday in the city’s latest efforts to stop the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The emergency order will remain in place through April 15.
Mayor Justin Elicker made that announcement in a press release sent out Friday afternoon.
According to the release, Elicker has issued an emergency order “to implement half-occupancy for Elm City establishments in response to the growing concern of the spread of COVID-19, and in direct response to Connecticut Governor Lamont’s declaration of a statewide, public health emergency.”
Why is the City involved in this?
This is a Federal and State matter and the city offers little that is not already covered by the State and Feds.
Looks like Joe Ganim is running for office and he is trying to build a resume
