Lieutenant Nick Esposito of the Bridgeport Fire Department Recruitment Team is spreading the word for a written examination for entry-level firefighters.
The big push, says Nick, is for candidates to register for the candidate physical ability test (CPAT) by February 25. The Bridgeport law firm Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder is offering $150 scholarships for Bridgeport residents to cover the fee of the CPAT.
From the city’s Civil Service Office:
The City of Bridgeport will formally announce a written examination date for entry level firefighter in the Spring of 2011. Applications will not be available in the Civil Service office until the examination is officially announced.
The written examination will be announced in the Connecticut Post and on the City of Bridgeport website under the Civil Service Department.
PLEASE NOTE: CPAT (CANDIDATE PHYSICAL ABILITY TEST) CERTIFICATION DATED JUNE 1, 2010 OR AFTER IS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR THE WRITTEN EXAMINATION. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT POSSESS A VALID CPAT CERTIFICATION MUST REGISTER TO TAKE THE CPAT.
Applicants MUST register with CPAT before the registration deadline of February 25, 2011. Registration information can be obtained at www.ct.gov/cfpc.
The fee for CPAT is $150.00 and Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder is offering scholarships to Bridgeport residents who demonstrate community service. More information is available at www.koskoff.com.
