City firefighters on Saturday responded to a blaze at the old Remington plant on the East Side, scene of several fires in recent years at the abandoned factory. The city has taken ownership of the complex slated for demolition. Mayor Bill Finch wants the site to be home of a second city train station.

*** Another “wake-up call” endorsement for knocking down and clearing the old Remington Plant site before the new year! Also, the city needs a second train station in the East Side like we need another religious non-profit storefront or dollar store, no? *** FORGETABOUTIT ***
So these two guys meet on the street and one says to the other, “You look great, how did you do it?”
He answers, “The building I owned had a fire and there was so much insurance I retired. What about you? You look great!”
He answers, “I too had a building and we had a flood and there was so much insurance I too retired.”
The first one says, “A flood? A flood? How do you have a flood?”
These buildings, ten years ago, were home to a thriving arts colony and to Habitat for Humanity. It was summarily dismantled by the past City administration who supported Sal DiNardo’s eviction of the artists and Habitat. It was subsequently stripped by DiNardo and his property manager, Robert Curwen with many of its artifacts sold to artists in SoHo. DiNardo is Finch’s buddy and this is criminal. Why are they let off the hook?
