One Supporting Gomes, The Other Ganim, Dueling City Council Members Pereira And Suliman Arrested At JFK Precinct

New Movement Party Director Tony Barr was on the scene late Tuesday afternoon chronicling the joint arrests of Upper East Side City Councilors Maria Pereira and Samia Suliman, once friends, now political enemies, engaged in alleged separate altercations at the JFK precinct.

Heated exchanges occurred in this battleground area.

Pereira supports John Gomes for mayor, Suliman Mayor Joe Ganim.

There’s a lot of history between these two, both with strong voter bases.

Suliman was processed and released from custody.

Police say Pereira was charged with assaulting a 70-year-old woman.

Awaiting additional details from police.

And so it goes in city politics….
