Local and state police rushed to the Main Street courthouse Friday afternoon as Laheem “Heeme” Jones, was found not guilty of fatally shooting 14-year-old Justin Thompson two years ago.
Thompson’s mother burst into tears at the verdict and left the courtroom.
The jury of six men and six women deliberated about eight hours over three days before finding Jones, 20, not guilty of all charges in the case.
