Hartford Courant scribe Christopher Keating examines Donald Trump’s Connecticut connections. Yes, we’ll highlight any shameless plug.

To Lennie Grimaldi, who worked as his chief spokesman back in the 1990s, today’s controversial presidential candidate is very similar to the outspoken developer he worked closely with in Bridgeport. At the time, Trump ranked among the nation’s gambling kingpins by operating three casinos in Atlantic City.

“When he hired me, he said, ‘Look, if a casino happens, I want it,'” Grimaldi recalled in an interview. “If I can’t have it, I want to kill it.”

Grimaldi said Trump was terrific as a client who paid well and provided exciting work. But he said he would never know what Trump would say next.

  1. Let’s do my version of Common Core math.

Trump + Ganim = scum – Trump = local scum – local scum + national scum = national scum.

Damn this ridiculous common core math. All you really need to know is the answer to any variation of this “problem” = scum.

  2. Use common core on your mentor Hillary Clinton. This family makes Bonnie and Clyde look like saints. Gee, none of the national press is writing about the FBI and the Clinton big shots. Most crooked family ever in politics.

  3. If you don’t vote for Hillary Clinton then you’re voting for Donald Trump no matter what name you vote for or if you don’t vote that’s a vote for Trump. I’m not a Clinton fan but when I look at the issues I’m concerned about I look at both candidates’ positions on my issues to see which comes near my positions and for me Clinton is nearer to me than Trump so I’ll vote for Hillary Clinton but I don’t like either candidate because they both are liars.
