When Marilyn Moore announced her retirement from state office on the final day of the legislative session last May it took many by surprise and set off a mad scramble to replace her in Connecticut’s city-suburban 22nd District.
When the dust settled following a large Democratic primary field, Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox emerged victorious in the general election. She will receive the oath of office next month.
On December 5 friends and supporters of Moore who spent 10 years in the legislature will host a community event at the Bijou Theatre, Fairfield Avenue, Downtown. A discussion about her career and contributions to the community will be included.
A $65 ticket includes dinner at Miss Thelma’s Restaurant Downtown at 5 p.m. followed by the Bijou event at 6 p.m.
A general admission ticket at the Bijou is $50.
