News release from Alberto Negron, House Democrats:

Christopher Rosario (D-Bridgeport) was officially sworn in as the State Representative from the 128th House District.  Secretary of the State Denise Merrill presided over the morning ceremony in the State Capitol.

“I look forward to joining the Bridgeport delegation and working hard in the upcoming session on behalf of the city,” Rep. Rosario said.

Rep. Rosario will be serving on the Appropriations, Energy and Technology and Transportation Committees.

“Rep. Rosario’s political experience and active political voice in Bridgeport will more than justify the confidence placed in him,” said Speaker Sharkey. “He will be an asset to these committees and to House Democrats in the upcoming session.”

The Appropriations committee is the General Assembly’s budget-writing committee. Other issues under the committee’s jurisdiction include matters relating to state employees’ salaries, benefits and retirement, teachers’ retirement and veterans’ pensions and collective bargaining agreements and arbitration awards for all state employees.

The Energy and Technology Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Public Utility Control and energy planning and activities.

The Transportation Committee has oversight of all matters related to roads, bridges, and mass transit.

Rosario’s experience includes District Leader of the 136th District Town Committee and participation in a number of social committees and causes.

Christopher is currently employed as the Director of Anti-Blight and Illegal Dumping for the City of Bridgeport and is the City’s youngest department head. Christopher and his wife Katherine reside in Bridgeport, CT and are the proud parents of Anthony, Chris, Jr. and Isabella.
