Carpenters Endorse Finch

From the Finch campaign:

Carpenters Union Local 210 today endorsed Mayor Bill Finch for his reelection as Mayor of Bridgeport.

“Mayor Finch has a proven commitment to union labor,” said John Cunningham, President, Carpenters Union Local 210. “Our members endorse Mayor Finch and are excited to continue working with the City of Bridgeport during its revitalization.”

“I am very proud and thankful to accept the endorsement from Carpenters Local 210,” said Mayor Finch. “During the last four years, we’ve worked together to rebuild Bridgeport and I thank our local Carpenters for their role in helping move our City forward.”

  1. To the president of the Carpenters union: How many workers do you have on the bench? How many workers actually voted for this endorsement? Your endorsement along with the other two union endorsements shows how out of touch you are. Where have you been while the city union members have been mistreated by Finch and Company? Where were you when they were blackmailed into givebacks all the while the city was hiring incompetent political hacks as they laid off city union workers? Get your heads out of your collective asses. I am glad I don’t pay dues to you dumb asses.

  2. tc, you are on the money. I am certain the Unions did not vote to agree on this endorsement. I have spoken to so many laborers who are out of work and waiting for Foster to get into office to stimulate development. It is such a joke. Finch will have a false sense of security as Bridgeport is not New Haven where unions helped decide the election. Did they even give Foster a chance to earn their support? Most of the members live in Ansonia, Derby and Shelton. I know because they like Mary-Jane and would be voting for her if they lived in Bridgeport. There is going to be an awful lot of ass-kissing on September 27th at 8:30 pm. Are the members of these Unions working at Bijou square? I am not sure of any other development going on in Bridgeport to excite anyone except for maybe a proposed Walmart on Steelepointe. Now that is exciting!!!

  3. All the unions endorse Finch. They have to. Charlie Carroll’s brother Pete is President of the Fairfield County Building Trades. They’re threatened with layoffs.

  4. I would hope John Cunningham, President, Carpenters Union Local 210 who has endorsed Mayor Bill Finch for his reelection as Mayor of Bridgeport, provided MJF the opportunity that was given to the mayor to earn their endorsement. Did John Cunningham provide MJF with a questionnaire to understand MJF’s positions on issues concerning Carpenters Union Local 210?

How many member are in Carpenters Union Local 210 and how many members voted to endorsed Mayor Bill Finch?
