From the CT Mirror:
About two-thirds of Connecticut towns are pilot-testing a new system to report election results in real time during Tuesday’s primary.
The new election management system allows head moderators at the roughly 800 polling stations in the state to enter their results directly into a publicly viewable results portal on the secretary of the state’s website. Preliminary results from all polling stations must be submitted to the secretary of the state’s office by midnight.
Not all moderators will use this method, however, as more than 50 towns chose not to use the new system in the primary. As a result, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill said her staff “probably can’t get (the preliminary results) all input by midnight” because of the towns that chose not to participate …
Notably absent from the list were New Haven and Stamford, but Hartford and Bridgeport plan to participate in the pilot test.
