Black Rockers Niels And Callie Heilmann Announce Progress For The Post Hotel Downtown, Scheduled 2026 Opening

Callie Heilmann, left, in red dress and husband Niels, inside right, showcase a rendering of their boutique hotel Downtown, scheduled for 2026 opening.

Little things mean a lot, especially when Connecticut’s most populous city requires hotel accommodations to meet its growing destination attractions: 6,000-seat amphitheater, 10,000-seat arena, annual music festival at Seaside Park, hospitals, universities and businesses seeking hotel space.

A few weeks ago the developer of Steelpointe Harbor announced Marriott will build a much-needed hotel with ground breaking in 2025.

Black Rockers Niels and Callie Heilmann also announced last week a boutique hospitality destination for Downtown projected to open in 2026.

From the Heilmanns:

The word is out! Bridgeport’s stunning new hospitality project, The Post Hotel, will open its doors in 2026! Last week, Niels and I took the exciting step of sharing publicly for the first time the project we’ve been working on for the past two years. Between the weather, the gorgeous setting, and the support of our beautiful community, we know we have the wind at our backs.

Messana O’Rorke, our lead architect, has designed a space that is gorgeous inside and out, representing a living link between Bridgeport’s industrial past and our urban future. Providing 36 boutique rooms across five floors in the historic Post Building and a new addition, upon opening The Post Hotel will immediately create a space in Bridgeport where culture, art, community, and tourism can thrive.

We were also thrilled to announce our Food & Beverage partnership with The Archive Hospitality Collective, led by Bridgeport’s own Chef Roshara Sanders, in partnership with Chef Damon Sawyer of 29 Markle Court, Chef Rodrigo Artieda, and Certified Master Baker, Chef Jesse Jackson III. The Archive team will continue to place Bridgeport on the map as a groundbreaking culinary destination.

Thank you to Razul Branch of BPT Creates for not just setting the evening’s scene, but for nurturing downtown Bridgeport’s cultural spaces for years. Also, thank you to Executive Cuisine for the delicious food. Finally, thanks always to DJ Dana for bringing the vibes!

We’re excited for the journey – and massive construction project – ahead! We’ll keep providing updates as the project progresses. We love our beautiful city, can’t wait to share it with the world!

“hospitality project” Please. How about a capital business venture for a “prophet” BlackRock, mamma bear needs a new LV handbag. 🤣

    Nothing wrong with that, JS

John in this coded/sided game we find ourselves. Do you see any Blue Clues that indicate what side mamma bear, Calli “resides with” 🙃

In the spirte of the words, and groundbreaking culinary destination, “Subway life is suffering.”
