Trumpeting a message of “return our party to the people” all nine members of the insurgent slate in the Black Rock/West End 130th District swept to victory on Tuesday’s Democratic Town Committee primary.
It was an impressive win by the slate that included Callie Heilmann, co-founder of the civic group Bridgeport Generation Now, who was the leading vote producer among the 18 candidates in the district. The slate largely ran against the political establishment led by Democratic Town Chair Mario Testa who is seeking another two-year term.
Will he have a challenge?
The 90-member Democratic Town Committee will soon select officers. The body functions as the party infrastructure, including endorsing candidates for public office.

In the North End/whiskey Hill 135th District, the slate below won all nine seats.

On the East Side 137th District the slate below including City Council members Aidee Nieves and Maria Valle won all nine seats.

John, you’re one who sides on research to be informed and tounderstand vie conversation, listening closely with respect to the other, and finding answers, and perhaps new questions
As I watch and read, I stay tuned to what current events in the Middle East I find myself agreeing with the exiled Shah and Mike Wallace. There is something more going on that doesn’t meet the Eye that is beyond the “disingenuousn”

I mean, this guy’s interview seems like a setup, psychologically, for the people and the overthrow of Iran, ushering in the era of the Ayatollah.
Conspiracy theory coming your way — perhaps! I mean, not sure what meets or doesn’t the eye with regards to the Persian and/or Arab Gulf thing, past and precent but it’s fair to say, be it Sunni or Shiite Muslim thing, y’all presently a God of Gabriel thing. Clearly, since Gabriel came to him. Shit, the Shah was a prophet. Who knew, and he didn’t even know how to rap.
The Conspiracy theory coming your way, OIB, perhaps. 🙂
The Prophet.

John, you are an informed, educated man. Does shit seem to add up? 🙂
For shits and giggles. There is an Extreme conspiracy theory out there that this current Iran “conflict” was orchestrated by the Clintons to deflect from their Epstein deposition in Washington.

Though I think they bit my pick-up thing for the ladies. 🤣

Wait, what? JZ was a prophet, too. I mean, in the Arab/Persian world.

Well, would you look at that, people, Prophets and or Gods are all over the place.
The Prophets and or?

Good Job, Gabriel.

Will he have a challenge?
It’s the only way I see Mario moving to Puerto Rico. What is causing Mario to hang on? Mario needs the next two years to get his Madison Avenue housing development locked in and completed. Joe Ganim shall make sure Mario gets what he wants and Ganim shall get the party endorsement and as a bonus, Paul Ganim shall continue as Probate Judge.
One Guaranteed way to break this cycle is:
Joel Gonzalez for Bridgeport DTC Chairmen.
I’d be committed to serve for 4 years only. I will chair by sharing power with all 9 district leaders in reforming the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee. Out with the old way of thinking and managing. Preparing the ground work for the future generation of voters and political candidates.
Imagine the 130th. district, with: A new State Senator; two new City Council members; Nine (9) new DTC members; A new DTC Chairmen; A new Mayor; A new Probate Judge; A new Fair Housing Commission Chairmen…
Congratulations to the local District DTC slates yesterday. Many of you were in attendance at the City Council Public Speaking and Meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Strictly as a former party member, and former local candidate, where my experiences provided real learning that was limited, I offer comments on City governance without conflicts of interest, for the common good. Hopefully the District DTC members will gather constituents of all parties or none, remembering the growing size of Unaffiliated voters in the City. Who welcomes them? Who expresses how citizen rights and responsibilities operate in Bridgeport? Who teaches CIVICS? Who practices responsible oversight and how is that done? Casual Civics Conversations are an inexpensive but widely available way for folks to learn and share, when they see something, to say something in Bridgeport. No cost. No agendas or minutes. Merely an opportunity to air your thoughts about how Bridgeport can become a more quality residence for their purpose and dreams. Time will tell.
City Council Comments- March 2, 2026
I address you as members of a new City Council, but each of you put yourself in a position serving all the people of the city especially for those who reside in your district. Therefore, I readdress you as neighbor, Bridgeporter, and leader. We who are not members of this Council depend on your wise decisions, based on principle and lived values of open, accountable, transparent, and honest governance using oversight to reckon whether we are on target with City plans in each area.
I ask questions of you and expect a response, as always. The future of CASUAL CIVICS CONVERSATIONS I presented to you in October 2024 for the first time. Civics is the study of citizen rights and responsibilities. It is supposed to be a subject in our local education system, though it does not seem a priority as curriculum today. It is a knowledge requirement for those who would become US citizens, but where is it locally practiced? Can you think of anyone sitting with constituents at a safe public site to discuss what is interfering with citizen life or to merely answer questions? Why do you not take time to listen, to hear questions, to know that folks see limits on their ability to participate in government that is not to their liking? Do you see vacant positions on Boards and Commissions as well as expired positions limiting the ability of these offices to function well?
You have Council powers in the revised Charter greater than before. You must do oversight of Charter changes, especially around enhancing the oversight of Ethics in the City. If you fail to oversee, how will citizens see your failure to act? If someone has a question regarding rental housing, do they approach the Housing Authority of Bridgeport with questions? What is the relation between City officials with Housing in their department names or the Housing Authority which shows up on the City website with three positions filled but two others vacant, meaning no quorum possible and no listing of budget or personnel on the City website for this operating ‘housing system’ ? Park City Communities provides over 5,000 units to Bridgeport citizens annually.
Do you expect that oversight over voluntary officials who are required to affirm their personal residence address annually at the Town Clerk’s office in January is one of your responsibilities? You voted for the ordinance as a body. That is Bridgeport history, for all. Will you step up to spread the spirit of Civics personally? Time will tell.
This line A of forward thinkers has achieved an amazing feat ! Looking forward to seeing what can be achieved for a better Bridgeport!! (maxine too)
Speedy, I’ll vote for you. Probably not, though. 🤣

With regards to one of your points regarding that school being a target. Al Jazeera is making the “media” assumption/claim that it could have been a targeted attack outright. (We all know what the Prophet Shah thought about the media and its usage) What practical, rational reason would it be for America or the Isreal to drop a bomb on a elemienry school?
A few other news psychological warfare press releases, I think, were skeptical airstrikes were actually inside jobs and not what meets the eye. Two prominent ones come to mind. The September 2025 Israeli airstrike targeting. Hamas leadership negotiation meeting in Doha, Qatar. As well as the Ayatollah. That was an inside bomb. JS

I got to go, people/Port. It looks like the Devils are at it again with its detail
However, I can’t depart the best ESL class ever without the Prophet.
Good luck, Port. I see they want to put a six-lane overpass bridge right across your beach. Talk about a view while enjoying a day at the beach. The sad part is, based on that dump on the side they put. They might just do it. 🤣

John, always a pleasure. Keep asking those questions. 🙂

First thing is to open the Books!
Jimfox is the original Black Rock Insurgent.
It was around late January 2008, when I set out to challenge Danny Roach and his DTC in Black Rock.
Close to missing the deadline for collecting required signatures, I knocked on Jimfox’s door. Before I left, Jim asked me if I needed help, he took two petitions and the voters list of Twin Tower residents.
Had it not been for Jimfox, allot of my political activism in the 130th would most likely never taken place. I didn’t expect to win but I knew that down the road there will be other battles and opportunities to throw a wrench in the Black Rock machine and in most instances, Jimfox was there to help. Happy 18th Anniversary to the original Black Rock Insurgent.
Joel, we make a good team!
Jimfox, you’ve never told what’s your beef with Mulligan. This is third time we hand him a loss. You think he’ll come back for more?
Joel, Mulligan is a good guy, has done a lot for this City.
We need more Mulligan’s for good people like Mulligan.
There are two sets of books and they a both cooked.
The Insurgents ran a good social media
campaign with a variety of beats off of songs from different artists. Which one was my favorite beat? Who is my favorite TC candidate and why? Who was my least favorite and why?
The first facebook campaign ad I saw got my attention with the Missy Elliott beat from her hit song “Work it” and work it they did. Here’s the link to the song and beat:

My favorite Insurgent? Clea Wilson 9B
Why? It’s as high as I can count with my fingers and my Lucky number.
My least favorite candidate Thomas Mulligan. Why? 1) Because Jimfox said so
2) He’s an Attorney 3) he keeps coming back for more 4) He doesn’t know how to “Work it”.
