From State Rep. Steve Stafstrom:
I am inviting all residents to stop in at Woods End Deli on Friday, Veterans Day, to support and thank a veteran.
Thanks to Michael and Carol Weinshel, along with Woods End Deli, we can all help by contributing money for postage or bringing in much-needed treats and travel size toiletries.
Michael and Carol continue to support our deployed troops. Since 2005, they have adopted over 37,000 troops and currently are supporting another 2,000 soldiers who are serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, a Special Operations Task Force and its headquarters.
I plan to attend around 12 noon and look forward to meeting and thanking our veterans for their great service in behalf of all of us.
You can drop off items at Woods End Delicatessen, 900 Wood Avenue, Bridgeport. The Deli is open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For any questions you can contact Carol Weinshel at 203-372-6004 or mcwein@outlook.com.
