Andy, before you voice an opinion on this, give Bobby Morton a call. You’ll be outraged and appalled.
Don, let me say this about Bobby Morton. I worked with Bobby for a long time and we never agreed on anything but we would really talk a lot. At times we would get heated but I truly liked Bobby while working and I still like Bobby after retiring. He’s a person who put his family first and he’s a good officer. It’s real disgusting what the City and the fire department have done to Robert Morton. Stay strong, Bobby.
Don, I called Bob Morton this AM and he stated he did not know what I was talking about. He stated he put in his papers to retire. If you want to send me the info on a private e-mail, it’s afardy@aol.com.
Andy, you know that is the type of man Bobby is, he is a proud man who always did his job the best he could and always gave his best.
Bobby is a good man and if something happened I am sure he got screwed.
Andy, he did get screwed and if he doesn’t want to discuss it, so be it. The question that needs to be asked, are there two openings for captains and are these promotions stacking? Stacking is putting people into positions where there are no openings, just like the current police case that is in court now and like the case from New Haven that was adjudicated in State court several years ago. Paging Atty Tom Bucci.
If the FD is stacking or filling positions where there are no openings, they are violating civil service regulations and these two should be returned to lieutenant’s rank.
