Why Ken Moales For State Senate?

The Rev. Ken Moales, a member of the Board of Education, is a candidate for the February 24 special election for State Senate. Moales has been a lightning rod in city politics, but in a couple of You Tube videos he shares why you should vote for him.

  1. The last video is entitled “who is Kenneth Moales Jr.?”

    The answer is as follows:
He is an arrogant, disrespectful and awful person.

He is completely dishonest and had no issue fraudulently billing the state/BOE for daycare services he never provided, which is in essence stealing from impoverished children and families who rely on these services. He did this while serving as the BBOE chair.

He clearly thinks he is above the law because he knowingly operated his church for over three years without a certificate of occupancy and when he received a summons for driving his church-owned vehicle unregistered for over a year, he did not even go to court to address the issue, therefore a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He is an absolute disaster financially as he is embroiled in an $8 million dollar foreclosure, owes over $20,000 to the state of CT in payroll taxes and owes $10,000 in delinquent property taxes. He now claims he is the victim of “predatory lending” although he claims to have a degree in finance.

He has repeatedly made insulting and disparaging remarks about parents, teachers and his colleagues on the BBOE.

This man should be in prison, not serving as our State Senator.

  2. By the way, having a nice singing voice is not the basis or qualification to serve as a State Senator. In all honesty, one of the last people in Bridgeport who should be singing about God is you, Kenneth Moales Jr.

  3. I’m a little confused after watching these videos. It seems to me Rev. Moales is trying to get viewers to attend his church. He sings in one then in the other he talks about his father, Bishop Kenneth Moales Sr., a very well-known singer/pastor known all over this country. But Rev. Moales is not his father. Rev. Moales seems to have problems dealing with members of the Bridgeport Board of Education who do not see things his way. He especially had problems with some female BOE members where he has shown disrespect. Moales has not shown he can deal with others who disagree with him, well how will he be able to work with others in the state senate? Moales has not told the voters how he would help solve the issues in Bridgeport. I’m not even talking about his financial problems.

  4. God help me, I agree with Moales on a policy issue.

Indeed, fixing property taxes for elderly who’ve resided in the same community X number of years and are of a certain income level makes sense … but how? And why suddenly two weeks before the special election is this Moales’ big idea? In his influential position in Democratic politics in B-port–twice Mayor Bill Finch’s campaign treasurer–has Moales raised this item before and pushed for it? No need to become a state senator to get on this.

As for his singing–thanks to the video editor for keeping it short.

  5. My greatest fears have been realized! There really might be a very bad musical production beginning to ferment in the mulch pile of Bridgeport politics!

It seems it will be written, produced, choreographed and performed by the same incestuous political team that has been meeting in East End churches of late.

Will the Reverend Moales demand a solo opportunity that drowns out the Governor’s tap-dance routine?

Will the Mayor demand an opportunity to deliver the Gettysburg Address before the opening number?

Will the Reverend Stallworth demand a page of the playbill with his picture and commentary?

Can they possibly put everything together before February 24? Will Denise Merrill see her shadow? Will we get three more weeks of winter?

As General Lee would say; time will tell.
