The city is considering $75,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by Marian Evans who was let go as the city’s health director in 2010. CT Post scribe Brian Lockhart has more:
Evans’ lawsuit referred to a second letter the mayor sent to her in April 2010 stating he intended to link her termination to the WIC problems and also believed she had misused funds.
Fabrizi, rumored to be weighing challenging Finch in the 2015 Democratic mayoral primary, said of the settlement, “Marian Evans is a very strong-minded woman with a passion for her job.”
“She caught a raw deal,” he said.

Despite the price tag placed on her settlement charges, Marion Evans does not display any signs of emotional distress in the photo shown above. Former Mayor Fabrizi practically endorses her lawsuit claiming she was mistreated–another plea for leniency while spending Bridgeport’s money.
He’s an expert on raw deals because that’s what he left on Mayor Finch’s desk upon departure!
Local Eyes, please tells us all when Marion Evans took that picture, the reason the picture was taken and why the picture was taken because you said, “Marion Evans does not display any signs of emotional distress in the photo shown above.”
She served under Finch from his election in 2007 until Feb. 5, 2010, when, according to the lawsuit filed a year later, “Dr. Evans was called into an emergency meeting with City Attorney Mark Anastasi, Labor Relations Director Lawrence Osborne an Chief Administrative Officer Andrew Nunn” and fired.
Three Stooges! Moe, Larry and Curly!!!
This is just one of many suits the city will lose. Message to Osborne, Anastasi and Nunn. This is not the early 1900s when bullies could get rid of employees for no reason. Whatever settlement she receives should be paid by you three bullies, then and only then would you act in a manner the law calls for.
This was an outrageous firing and really one of the earliest displays of Finch, Wood and Nunn’s loyalty inquisitions. I can’t believe the taxpayers of Bridgeport are going to have to suck it up and pay yet another settlement for yet another victim of this administration’s juvenile venom but there’s a big part of me very happy Evans stuck it to this trio of thugs. They deserve this and so much more.
But wait, didn’t Sue Brannelly say this:
“To be honest with you … the City Attorney’s Office saves us money day in and day out. They do a tremendous job,” Brannelly said.
The people who don’t live in Black Rock know Brannelly is full of shit.
One of the few times in Brannelly’s life when she is not full of shit!!!
The morning of a colonoscopy. Enough said!
*** This was just one of many “wrongdoings” by the Finch Admin. to some good people/city workers who did their jobs but in the end had a difference of political opinion outside the job. ***
