The City’s Eisenhower Senior Center will close from Nov. 15 through 22 to prepare to move to its new location at 307 Golden Hill St. Seniors will continue to be able to access the swimming pool through the Elm Street entrance at all times.
A grand opening for the new senior center will take place on Monday, Nov. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All City senior citizens are invited to attend to tour the new facility and enjoy a light lunch. In addition to its current offerings–exercise, ceramics and line dancing–the new center also will offer Zumba, T’ai chi, chair yoga and Jazzercise.
Local developer Phil Kuchma, in partnership with the City, has renovated the building at 307 Golden Hill St. to turn it into the new Senior Center. Once he completes renovations at 263 Golden Hill St., that building will be home to the Downtown Cabaret Theatre, a fitness center and a planned restaurant.
“This new facility will provide our City seniors with enhanced services and expanded programs in a beautifully renovated building,” said Mayor Bill Finch.
