Governor To Speak On Legislative Session

Governor Dannel Malloy will be in Bridgeport on Tuesday for a Capitol Breakfast hosted by the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, 8 a.m. at the Bridgeport Holiday Inn, 1070 Main Street downtown.

The governor is coming off a recently completed legislative session that enacted the repeal of the death penalty, passage of education reform, medical marijuana, Sunday alcohol sales and tighter regulation on massage parlors. The massage parlor effort was led by a team of city neighborhood leaders and city and state officials–the so-called Smut Busters–that urge controls on massage parlors and adult entertainment establishments.

This expects to be a busy week for the governor to sign some of these measures into law.

If you want to attend the governor’s event the cost is $35 for BRBC members and $50 for non-members. Call the BRBC at 203-335-3800.
