From Democratic mayoral candidate Mary-Jane Foster:
Foster Raises $100K for Mayoral Run and Announces June 15 Headquarters Opening
Bridgeport businesswoman and social action advocate Mary-Jane Foster, who is a candidate for mayor, announced today that she has raised in excess of $100,000. Garnering support from Bridgeport residents and regional allies alike, nearly ten percent of those donations have been made securely online at www.FosterForBridgeport.com.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2011 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM, the Foster for Bridgeport campaign will host the grand opening of its headquarters, located at 3768 Main Street, Bridgeport. The celebration is free and open to the public.
“My campaign continues to gain momentum and the message I hear from everyone I meet is clear: Bridgeport is headed in the wrong direction and the voters want change,” stated Foster. “While the mayor continues to squeeze City contractors, employees, business leaders, and political operatives for cash, I am reaching out to a diverse cross section of people who are ready for a mayor who knows how to create jobs, will get Bridgeport’s fiscal house in order, and help Bridgeport realize its much talked about, but never realized, potential.
“I am calling on everyone who recognizes that Bridgeport is on a collision course with financial disaster and who wants to take our city back from the incompetent leadership we have today. Come to our headquarters grand opening tomorrow and join my campaign. Bridgeport deserves better and together we can take back City Hall!”
You know it’s an election year when your streets are getting paved. I just wish it snowed in the summer.
