He followed in his father’s footsteps as a Democratic political leader in the South End and West End as well as serving as an elected city sheriff. Mitch Robles passed away last week at age 72.

Mitchell Robles, age 72 of Bridgeport, loving husband of 52 years to Evelyn Morales Robles passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Dominick and Alicia Quiles Robles. Mitchell was self-employed, working as a real estate consultant, and proudly served as a Bridgeport City Sheriff for many years. He was a well-known and respected political figure who dedicated much of his life to serving and supporting the Bridgeport community, something he was deeply proud of. Mitchell touched the lives of many through his service, kindness, and commitment to his community. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife Evelyn, Mitchel leaves behind his two devoted daughters April & Michelle Robles and his granddaughter Nevaeha.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Commerce Hill Dougiello Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 9th at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to International Fund for Animal Welfare or St. Jude’s Children Hospital in memory of Mitchell.
