Call it the Bradley-Bird boondoggle at Success Village.
The feds Wednesday morning executed a search warrant at the housing co-op Ty Bird once controlled as they connect the dots to millions of unaccounted money fleeced from the common charges of residents.
Now, who tried to keep things status quo with Bird still in charge? The Bradley brothers Mark and Dennis who form a Bridgeport law firm that represented Ty Bird and wanted to keep the gravy train running at the expense of victimized homeowners.
Let’s get to the headline question at hand involving City Councilwoman Maria Pereira whose district includes Success Village.
It appears it’s not enough for preeminent absentee ballot harvester Pereira – defending multiple state felony charges of election fraud – that the person she’s supporting for judge of probate, Mark Bradley, is registered as a Republican in Massachusetts and Democrat in Bridgeport, in violation of multiple state laws.
It’s not enough that Massachusetts court records show his bona fide residency as Massachusetts, a document under his own signature, where his kids go to school and he receives state of Massachusetts health benefits.

It’s not enough Bradley was hauled into a Massachusetts probate court for being a dead beat dad.
It’s not enough that the same judge excoriated him from the bench: “I don’t know if you’re going to be able to call yourself attorney for much longer when all this hits the fan, because this is serious. This is extremely serious violations of your ethical obligations, of your duties as an officer of the court.”
It’s not enough that Bradley has voted in Bridgeport for eight years while registered in Massachusetts, utilizing his family law firm on Fairfield Avenue as his voting address.
It’s not enough Bradley did not register a motor vehicle in Bridgeport until his probate candidacy announcement in March, cheating the city out of taxes while claiming a bogus city address.
It’s not enough that the State Elections Enforcement Commission, an investigative body Pereira has leveraged to file numerous election complaints against political enemies – including Mark Bradley’s brother, Dennis – is investigating Mark Bradley for election fraud.
It’s not enough that Bradley is a partner with the law firm that did everything possible to fight a state judge weighing a receiver to manage the tragic conditions at Success Village.

When Pereira learned the feds raided Ty Bird’s home, she told the CT Examiner “It’s about time. The residents of this community have been put through hell because of him (Bird).”
The residents agreed, cheering the federal raid.
Intriguingly, some of Bird’s closest confidantes are Mark and Dennis Bradley, the former state senator awaiting sentencing for conviction on six counts of election fraud.

That’s why Pereira’s support of Mark Bradley for judge of probate – trying to signature his way onto the August primary ballot to challenge long-time Judge of Probate Paul Ganim – is bewildering.
The Bradley law firm was at the table trying to keep Ty Bird in charge two years ago, making court appearances and receiving handsome legal fees. When municipal leadership in Bridgeport and Stratford prevailed upon Superior Court Judge Dale Radcliffe to jettison Ty Bird and appoint a receiver to reverse the mess caused under his watch, it was the Bradley law firm that argued against it.
They told the court finances at the co-op were peachy, when in massive-debt shambles, millions missing and unaccounted – no heat or hot water to boot.
Then, when that didn’t work, they tried another dipsy-doodle stall tactic to waste more Success Village money: a federal bankruptcy filing. A federal judge wanted no part of the ruse, quickly dispatching the request so Judge Radcliffe could implement the management change, dissolving the board led by Bird.
So, what’s really at play here?
Pereira charged with election fraud, Dennis Bradley convicted of election fraud, Mark Bradley under investigation for election fraud. Is it misery likes company?
Welcome to the party, pal!
Or, there’s something in this for Pereira (or her district) who knows how to signature hunt her district for ballot approval. What could that be?
The Bradley brothers did no favors for the residents of Success Village. So maybe their next move is to personally finance a bulk trash pickup at Success Village to win over the people they screwed.
Bradley Law Group was paid a boatload of money in legal fees by Bird while in charge of the Success board. And guess what, attorney Darnell Crosland was paid handsomely for legal representation as well.
Who is he?
Bird’s criminal defense attorney. Crosland also represents Dennis Bradley.

Lennie, you’re like the Feds–when you ask questions, it’s because you know the answers. It all started years ago when it was “all about the children. ” Later, it became about the success of poor children. Then it evolved to all about the children of Success Village.
Keep in mind Lennie that it was Maria who saved Success Village by fighting to force, Mayor Ganim and Hoydick, Governor Lamont and the Legislature to provide the funding and support needed. Have you signed the Petition yet?
Speedy, Maria was one of many voices, and deserves credit, but it wasn’t until municipal CAO Tom Gaudett recognized a catastrophic health emergency in the making that necessitated going into court before Judge Radcliffe who saw an extraordinary decision had to be made: jettisoning Ty Bird and the board, replaced by attorney Barry Knott who made the heroic steps to bring stability to 1,000 units and roughly 2,000 residents. The Bradley law firm continued to do Bird’s bidding, but was rejected by state and federal courts. The $6 million low-interest loan, to preserve longer-term progress, was lobbied by the city and state legislative delegation.
I knew I’d get a rebuttal from you. Maria deserves credit? Hurry up and move back to Bridgeport, that out-of-town water is taking its toll.
Lennie, how much of a role did other Success Board member/s play in the scheme. Give it another 14 months and the Juicy Stuff will spew.
Just a few more weeks Speedy! Valle and Nieves my City Council reps, Antonio Felipe my State House member, Herron Gaston my State Senator. Plus, the citywide office holders. Heck, speedy, if you come out of retirement I might even vote for you.
As for Success Village, the treachery, as you noted goes all the way to Massachusetts. Stay tuned.
You probably know that I have followed the Success Village saga for years. You likely know that I have called attention to the “goings on” at Success Village where comments from City Hall first denied any concern for the cooperative form of ownership that was legally described by State law, not any local responsibility or support.
Mayors Fabrizi, Finch, and now Ganim 2 have ignored the death of a FAIR HOUSING COMMISSION, for failure to receive appointments to that group to maintain a quorum.
But according to the above narrative, Tom Gaudett knew that health issues resulting from heating resources not working and hot water not available at times would attract notice from Health and Social Services locally. Ownership of real property by 700 or more Bridgeport residents, as voters and taxpayers, would gain attenrion ultimately when bills went seriously overdue.
But residents had By-laws and voted for representation and officials on occasion. What happened when the flow of info failed or elections were not held? When funds received no accountability? And after a CT judge needed to intercede and appoint a receiver to restore order to communications, suits, and transparency? Well, two years of waiting for the “dollars to be discovered caper”, provided a news story about the FBI entering the premises of a former SVA official and taking records and property this week.
Barry Knott’s limited investigation of the financial facts can be extended hopefully with Federal authority, tools, and power. It is likely to be a complicated story of deviations from the norms. It is why I continue to call attention to informed voting, locally. Where do you look for trustworthy facts? Who is doing oversight and reviewing the material communicated by those in power? And if you have questions, or are disturbed about what you learn about governance, where can you go to see if you are alone in your sense? We have another Saturday 9AM gathering of CASUAL CIVICS CONVERSATIONS at Fruta Cafe, 1000 Lafayette this week. You are welcome. There is a chair waiting for you. No fee. No reservations. No minutes or agendas. Just informal conversation where you can learn by listening or by asking your question. Time will tell.
I don’t know Lennie. I know the Port’s political “disingenuous” game has fostered short memories, but attaching Maria, the piranha, to Mark Bradley’s run against G2 brother and Ty Bird’s FBI raid and the financial shit show going on with Success Village via her short-lived alliance with Mark Bradley’s brother Denis is, well. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🙂
I mean.

Maria Pereira supported Dennis Bradley in his 2022 state senate loss – many years following the video you attached – after declaring numerous times she’d never support him again. She says a lot of things and then does something else.
Exactly, and the “word” was when ????? 🙂

It’s as bad as the BPD trying to place blame on Joe Grits for the national sentiment for the police in this country.
Joe G. put the police on trial and flipped the script. The sentiment of police being in fear is their own doing.
Play the Rod King footage or that “arrest” and aftermath. You probably weren’t even born. Show George Floyd and that murder, and the aftermath, and the many others. Shit hit closer to home and put the Porter on the stand to ask what his action was to this cop behavior that is a direct result of an officer, and how black men live in constant fear of police brutality and fear of injustice behavior by the police. Porter has acknowledged the “stain with the community, and BPT police, and the need to mend the fences with the community and the police, and when a black man gets shot in the back, while very debatable to the justifiable in this particular incident, the national sentiment in minority communities is real, and the police’s abusive behavior is the underlying linchpin to any nagative and fear incitement towards them.

Joe, you can go down the list of shit the police incited there own initiation of injury and peoptey.

Speaking of mending political fences. It seems like a Port past-time, Lennie? 🙂

Joe G for CC, because why not. It would be a trifecta. JG would be that black pain in the ass, too; WEEP’s Latino pain in the ass, and Maria’s mannaise pain in the ass to G2. 🤣
Free Joe and Maria. 🤣
