The Barnum Festival’s Great Street Parade features a new route this Sunday in Black Rock.
The parade will kick off 11 a.m. at Ash Creek on Fairfield Avenue, the division between Bridgeport and Fairfield, and travel east to Wordin and Fairfield Avenue. Parking is available at 2253 Fairfield Avenue, as noted in the graphic above.
Any time a parade offers a new route it’s a leap of faith. Festival leaders hope for a likewise turnout in Black Rock that greets the annual parade celebrating the neighborhood as well as the St. Patrick’s Parade that relocated from Downtown several year ago.
The BarFest parade in Black Rock also delivers alliance value, bringing nearby Fairfield residents into play as well as the Black Rock business district loaded with restaurants, bars, and music venues, all tasty vantage points.
BarFest fireworks will take place Friday, 9:15 p.m. at the traditional Seaside Park location.
