Finch for Senate campaign announced that the Bridgeport Firefighters and the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut unanimously endorsed Bill Finch for State Senate. As Mayor, Finch worked with Firefighters to install tens of thousands of smoke detectors for Bridgeport residents free of charge. He has a long record of improving fire safety through modernizing training and upgrading equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
David Dobbs, President of the Bridgeport Firefighters, issued the following statement: “As a Mayor, City Council member, and Senator, Bill Finch always stood up for the cause of public safety. He brought in more resources to help protect the residents of Bridgeport, Monroe, and Trumbull from fires – providing funds for new facilities, equipment, and training. His door has always been open to us, and we’ve worked hard together to make our communities safer and ensure that firefighters earn a fair wage and benefits for the hard work we do day in and day out. Bill Finch is the clear choice in the race for State Senate. He’s a proven leader and will effectively champion public safety in our communities. We unanimously endorse him in the State Senate race and know that he will keep standing up for Firefighters.”
