Mayor Joe Ganim’s $572 million proposed spending plan is now in the hands of the City Council’s Budget & Appropriations Committee. The mayor’s budget calls for a modest 0.25 percent cut in the tax rate as well as $2 million more for public schools. See mayor’s full proposed budget here.

*** With everything that’s going on, its sure to be a city council rubber stamp administrative budget this year! However, I can’t blame them this year with a 2-million increase for education & a modest 0.25% cut in tax rates. The world is up-side down as we know it in all aspects of local, state & federal government & the economy. ***
