Bridgeport politics is something of a contact sport, but in recent weeks, be it a court challenge to the September 10th Democratic primary, petition signatures gone awry, elections complaints filed with the state, there’s been a dearth of focus on issues. Hopefully, that will change in the final weeks leading to the November 5th general election.

Blight is making a comeback.
At the risk of sounding like a political know-it-all, Mayor Ganim is unable to fire State Representatives.
Rosario was a city employee under Finch, when Governor Joe came in he canned the Boot-lick.
Despite his city employment history, anyone who has forged friendships with former Mayor Finch and current mayor Ganim has mastered the art of intra-party politics while building a new career as a state rep.

I just saw discussion on here about the Ganim campaign hosting that event in a church and violating the 501c3, how can the McGivney Center and Burroughs Community Center host an event for a specific political candidate without violating their 501c3? How can the libraries host political events? Can anyone enlighten me?
A 501(c)3 organization can host or rent space for a candidate forum or candidate community meeting in building owned by a 501(c)3 organization.
That facility should be open to ALL candidates.
A 501(c)3 organization CANNOT endorse ANY political candidate. May I suggest you watch the entire video in which Pastor Stallwoth endorses Ganim from the pulpit.
Libraries are municipal entities and do not have a 501(c) 3 designation. Any candidate can hold a meeting or forum in the library as long as they are all treated equitably.

Jimfox, Rep. Rosario understood just like Stevie A did that kissing Mario Testa and Joe Ganim ass is the name of the game. Rosario wants to be the future Hispanic/Latino candidate for mayor so it’s kissing ass until he’s given the ok to run.

Ron and Jimfox, whomever the latino is that will run for mayor they need to grasp the hearts and minds of the Black community if they want to win. That’s a big bridge to cross at this point.
Don, without a doubt, it should have happened this time but unfortunately for whatever reason ego, past disagreement or whatever it was will now put Joe Ganim back in power while black and Hispanic/Latino communities have begs and hope that Mayor Ganim and Mario Testa will share some of the crumbs off the pie. There’s a whole pie out there and we’re fighting for crumbs because of bullshit that we can’t get over and put to the side. Joe Ganim is weak and the voters are tied of him because the election results first from Ganim his fail run governor and now this primary where he lost at the voting polls and he won by 270 absentee votes, the people want change.
I agree with Ron, in order to get a piece of any pie, you have to be invited to the table, although Pizza Pie has very little crumbs.
