From Doing It Local:
The Fanatics Sportsbook, in collaboration with the Connecticut Lottery, is now open for business at 600 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT. It’s conveniently located at Total Mortgage Arena, near the main parking garage entrance where the Limerick Pub used to be. The grand opening will be marked by Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and other local dignitaries, who will inaugurate the venue by placing the ceremonial first bet.
Spanning over 2,300 square feet, this exciting new sportsbook features betting windows, self-service betting kiosks, and numerous high-definition TVs placed strategically throughout the area. Additionally, there’s a full-service restaurant offering a variety of food and drink options for sports enthusiasts to enjoy while watching their favorite games.
The Fanatics Sportsbook at Total Mortgage Arena caters to fans of all major sports, including professional football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, and boxing. Operating hours are from 11:30 am to 10 pm, seven days a week, ensuring patrons can enjoy the sportsbook experience even on days when arena events are scheduled.

Ironic that your next OIB post warns, “Beware of Darkness, Sip your drink glass, etc. that deals with the actual eclipse on Monday. But one look at this “economic development” newbie offering the “sportsbook experience”. High definition videos streaming of multiple sports over 10 hours daily, seven days a week for “Fanatics”? I suppose. I had no awareness of how many folks that includes such that a former tenant business, likely an Irish bar, was supplanted.
Total Mortgage is the name on the building. Can anyone explain the business model for my learning and that of others in the community, please? Is there a reason for the darkness of the photo lead for this article in contrast to so many featuring Ganim3, lately? And where are the promised dignitaries? Can’t recognize the faces other than the Mayor among the six who appear in the “dark”, can you? Time will tell.
