From The ‘Fish:
Former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens will be in Bridgeport to guest manage the Bluefish on Friday, August 5 as the team takes on the Long Island Ducks. Clemens will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and participate in a pre-game meet-and-greet with fans. There will also be a limited-edition Roger Clemens bobblehead giveaway for all fans that purchase Season Tickets or our five-game Bobblehead Mini-Plan.
You may also receive a Clemens bobblehead by purchasing our Rocket Night package, which costs $21 and includes a bobblehead and a Box Seat to the game. To reserve yours, call 203-210-BLUE or CLICK HERE and enter the code “ROCKET” at checkout.
Clemens pitched in the Major Leagues for 24 years, making his debut with the Boston Red Sox in 1984 and staying with the club for 13 seasons. Clemens was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays in 1997 and 1998 before joining the New York Yankees in 1999. In 2004, he was signed by the Houston Astros, but returned to the Yankees for his final season in 2007.
OIB Trivia: Did you know City of Bridgeport Town Clerk Don Clemons and former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens are brothers? The letter ‘o’ in Clemons was the result of the father’s reaction upon seeing baby Clemons for the first time and saying, ohhh!
