The first 500 fans attending the May 6 Bluefish baseball game will go home with a Mayor Bill Finch Bobblehead. Can’t ya just see former Fish owner Mary-Jane Foster and former Mayor Joe Ganim whose administration built the ballpark at Harbor Yard lined up for a Finch bobblehead?
The Bluefish marketing department has teed up a whole bunch of cool promotions this season. Next Wednesday is also City Of Bridgeport/Nurse Appreciation Night.
Hmm, may we suggest another promotional night? Yes sir, wouldn’t ya just groove on an Absentee Ballot Night? The giveaway could be bobbleheads of the king and queen of absentee ballots, former State Rep. Americo Santiago and City Councilwoman Lydia Martinez. That would be some two-headed dynamo. Americo and Lydia will be on hand passing out absentee ballot applications. Come on, why wait until the last minute? Let’s get the absentee ballot campaign started. Suburbanites can vote, too.
For a listing of bobblehead nights see here.
The Bluefish can’t catch or draw flies. Their marketing message is a Tower of Bobble! Once again, they have dropped the ball.
They would have had a better turnout if it were Bill Finch Voodoo Doll night. That would keep all their fans on Pins and Needles!
Nice base tan.
We already have a Bill Finch bobblehead doll! It’s Stevie Auerbach!
They’d make more money selling Adam Wood toilet paper.
Wood Carving?
Thank you, Jim Fox. I don’t get the joke and I cannot imagine anyone on this blog getting the joke. Maybe when you peel your lips off of Joe Ganim’s ass you could explain.
Speaking about bobbleheads. Is this actually a true promotion? I mean is this really supposed to be a likeness of Finch? Was there an overrun of another politician, say George W. Bush?
Getting back to Jim Fox, thank you for always making me feel like a celebrity. Good, bad or otherwise, I love seeing my name in print. Keep it up and get out your checkbook for Joe. Apparently everyone at his fundraiser will be required to keep writing checks. Now Fox, instead of giving me celebrity status, you could knock on some doors and tell the highest-paying taxpayers in the city of Bridgeport why they should support Ganim. Now sir, that should be good for a few laughs. I see a Ganim bobblehead with Ganim done up in white and black fashionable prison outfit and I bet those would be collectable.
Actually, it does look like GWB. Good call.
I’m sure His Honor wishes he had that much hair, or that tan, teeth, you all get the picture.
Funny thing is the real Finch is a bobblehead. Anyway, my dog could use a new chew toy. It would be great if they make one in the shape of a fire hydrant for him to relieve himself on.
So the lesson we learn today folks is that:
Only in Bridgeport is “bobblehead” an honor. Seems an appropriate name to me for Mayor Finch/wood, but then I’m using it in an entirely different context.
Is it just me? That bobblehead doesn’t have much of a resemblance to Bill Finch.
