With rain in the forecast for Tuesday night, Joe Ganim’s inaugural committee led by Gina Malheiro has decided to switch the 6pm ceremonies from McLevy Green outside to the 1,400-seat Klein Memorial Auditorium, 910 Fairfield Avenue. “A Taste Of Bridgeport” reception featuring food provided by various restaurants will take place immediately following the inauguration in the first floor of the Margaret Morton Government Center, 999 Broad Street Downtown, also known as the City Hall Annex. The public is invited to attend both the inauguration and reception.
In organizing the inauguration Malheiro slated the Klein as Plan B in case of inclement weather. Klein directions and parking here. The Klein, celebrating its 75th year in 2015, has a large lot across the street from the venue, accessible from Iranistan Avenue.
In addition to mayor, offices for city clerk, town clerk, sheriff, school board and City Council will participate in the inauguration festivities. Superior Court Judge Eddie Rodriguez will serve as master of ceremonies.
Don’t worry asshole, I wont be there.
Good. Last thing Ganim needs is a flatulent old man stinking up the place.
That would be your breath, asshole. Oh yeah, they are one in the same. Stay straight.
The crudités? Andy would just graze on the floral arrangements.
Derek, how is the acting career going? Really.
*** Good place for an inauguration. Wonder if Finch will be there to pass the “Grey Poupon” to Joe. ***
Finch still has 24 hours left, let’s hope he doesn’t try to screw the city any more than he already has. We really need to write something in the charter to limit a mayor’s power a bit during the transition period. That way, in the future what Finch did the other day can’t happen again.
