Democratic mayoral candidate John Gomes, Joe Ganim’s chief fundraising opponent, is launching a neighborhood canvassing drive this weekend.
Two months from the party convention in which Ganim is the favorite for the endorsement, this is an opportunity for the Gomes campaign to identify Democratic electors to help him qualify for the September primary ballot during a July signature drive.
More than 2,000 verified signatures will be required for ballot access.
State Senator Marilyn Moore and former Finch administration official Lamond Daniels are also in the mayoral race.
