General Lee To Host Gardner Party

Citizen fiscal watchdog John Marshall Lee, weighing a run for City Council, on Sunday will host a fundraiser for Democratic mayoral candidate Howard Gardner.

Invitation from Lee:

We have come to know Howard Gardner through his participation on the Board of Education. He is intelligent, has broad corporate experience, and a patient demeanor that masks a passion for advocacy on behalf of all citizens of the community. He continues to live and work in Bridgeport where he was schooled and has raised his own family. We respect his message and his record of integrity.

We open our home at 30 Beacon St. on Sunday, May 3 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM so that you may greet him and begin to learn how he sees his candidacy important to all City voters. We hope you are able to visit with us even for a short time. Refreshments will be served. Your participation is encouraged

  1. Anyone with a lick of sense would take the time to listen to what Gardner has to say. This Republican is about to change registration to vote for Gardner. Not sure this helps or hurts him, but finally a candidate from the Democrats I can support.

  2. Howard Gardner is a gentleman and I have quite a few acquaintances who want to support him. Time will tell. Unfortunately, I expect to win a bet so I’ll have to observe from afar. I respect Mr. Gardner and Mary-Jane Foster. It should be a quiet race in my opinion. I do believe Finch deserve s to see his projects come to fruition. But the University of Bridgeport could sink him and even I cannot rationalize a behavior that hurts all Bridgeport residents. If Mary-Jane Foster pulled an upset the city will be in good hands and Finch will regret his non support of an economic engine in the South End. If Ganim were to run and win how sad for Bridgeport. How very very sad. But I will say this. I wouldn’t spend the next four years being disrespectful on this blog. In the end it should be about Bridgeport and pride with the hope of a brighter future. Ganim cannot offer this and other than Finch, Foster has the credentials and connections to keep Bridgeport moving forward. For the last time, I will say I wish she’d waited four years. I expect Bill Finch to make stunning changes and major announcements in the coming months.
