The Department of Housing and Urban DevelopmentBNT’s mission is to LEAD, EMPOWER and CHANGE Bridgeport neighborhoods, improving quality of life through affordable housing opportunities. To meet this challenge, BNT develops and manages affordable housing, creates healthy homes with a focus on lead remediation and provides comprehensive homeownership for low and moderate income families.
Over the past eight years, BNT’s results include the development of 158 new scattered site affordable housing units (102 are under management). Currently it has an additional 4 units in construction and 53 units in its pipeline. With regards to its programs, BNT has created 800 lead-safe apartments and helped more than 500 families achieve homeownership during this time period
You would be silly not to buy. Say you spend $1K/mo on rent. Including taxes you could buy a $104K house for the same money. Zillow has 116 properties for that amount or less. Even if you walk away, the house did not cost you any more than the apartment.
*** THE HIGH TAXES AND WATER/POLLUTION BILLS ALONE WILL HAVE YOU IN THE RED BEFORE YOU KNOW IT IN BPT. ***
