Perhaps this was the reaction to membership fees at Brooklawn Country Club. From the CT Post:
FAIRFIELD — Maybe he missed his tee time. Police said a Bridgeport man stole a golf cart from the Brooklawn Country Club on Sunday afternoon and drove it all the way to the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course, where he drove into three other golf carts and damaged the greens.
Masanobu E. Massiah, 25, of Westfield Avenue, was charged with two counts each of third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal trespass and one count of first-degree criminal mischief in the connection with the cart caper.
In the stolen cart was a set of golf clubs and a purse, police said.
Police said golfers at Fairchild Wheeler restrained Massiah until officers arrived and placed him under arrest.
The stolen cart was worth $3,500, and the damage to the three carts that were struck was estimated at $1,600. The golf clubs were worth $1,900 and the golf bag valued at $180, while the purse was worth $40.
Massiah was held on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear May 31 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
Maybe he had a tee time at Fairchild-Wheeler, forgot his clubs and wandered onto Brooklawn Country Club, drove 3 miles up Brooklawn Avenue to Fairchild to play.

I played Brooklawn on Sunday with Bill Finch, and all the carts were out, so we had to walk the whole course. That guy really pissrd me off, they should throw the book at him.
Walking screwed up my game, I hit more balls than Sir Elton John’s chin that day. Somebody better fix the sand traps on the 5th hole.
