Following Viral Threats, Early Dismissal For Public Schools Today, No Classes Friday

Continued online threats have resulted in the early dismissal of city schools and no classes on Friday, something that has infected many school districts in Connecticut.

Last night police made an arrest of a juvenile, but the threats continued into today.

At 10:50 pm The Bridgeport Police Department made a juvenile arrest in the recent threat to our schools. The Bridgeport Police Department would like to ensure our community that the safety of our students and staff is a priority and that there will be a strong police presence at our schools. We would like to thank our patrol division, Detective Bureau, and our federal partners for working together on this case.

Superintendent of Schools Carmela Levy-David issued this statement on Wednesday following the first threat.

“We understand that this situation may cause anxiety and concern among our community. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities immediately to school administration or local authorities. Your cooperation and support are crucial in ensuring the safety of our school community.”
