Cops Move Against Massage Parlors

Law enforcement officials on Wednesday conducted raids on city massage parlors following efforts by a coalition of elected officials and neighborhood leaders to shut down illegal operations. OIB is awaiting further details, but the website www.onebridgeport.com, an outgrowth of neighbor concerns reports the following:

We are incredibly delighted to give you the news that eleven (11) illegally operating Massage Parlors were closed today in Bridgeport. Big, BIG! props to the Bridgeport Police Department and, of course, to State Representative Auden Grogins, and City Council Woman, Sue Brannelly!

Bridgeport, we know that this has been an awful week with the news of the massacre in Newtown. We know that Massage Parlors are a part of a constellation of problems facing our City, State and Nation. We are are sensitive to where this fits into the scheme of the bigger picture and we, too, of course are mourning the loss of our neighbors in Newtown.

We need you to know that we are so thankful for your ongoing support and we hope that this news helps to shine a little light into otherwise very dark days. And know, Bridgeport, that your voices are the reason we saw this success today. We will post more news as we receive it.

  1. This was long overdue and great big thanks to all who made this happen. The Law that is now in place will help any other “parlors” have a difficult time to open.
    Kudos.

  2. The people of the city of Bridgeport owe a big thanks to Sue Brannelly for pushing this ordinance to a full council vote. Marty McCarthy ought to be ashamed of himself for stalling it in committee.

This is a good thing for the city in general and the Black Rock neighborhood in particular. The Rock has been seeing some gentrification, fine restaurants, art galleries, live music, etc. There’s no place for whorehouses here.
