Chief Porter: My Door Remains Open To Enhance Public Safety

After a police union no-confidence vote, Chief Roderick Porter issued this statement:

“I have heard and respect the vote expressed by some of our officers, and I remain committed to working with them to address officer wellness and public safety,” the chief said. “My door remains open to anyone who has concerns or wants to share ways that we can improve the police department and public safety … and I plan to proactively facilitate those conversations.”

“I look forward to continuing my efforts with Mayor Ganim in our combined efforts to improve the police department and decrease crime in the city. … True leadership requires one to make tough and sometimes unpopular decisions. I understand and accept that responsibility as the chief.”

Mayor Ganim’s administration also continued to express public support of the chief. CT Post’s Brian Lockhart has more here

  1. Why is it that the doors for Justice for Bianca Lebron has been shut once again? For 24 years I have been vigilant for any clue that would lead to the capture of the culprit responsible for what we, the Bianca Lebron family abducted and killed Bianca Lebron. The clues to what may very well lead to closure are right in front of alleged investigator/s. Felix Lebron, Bianca’s father has been trying to get the State’s Attorney attention to no avail and co operation between I and the leading detective of this chilling case was broken off.

Having written this, I challenge Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter to:

    1) Bring back Detective Todd Hoebe
    2) keep Detectice Laura Acevedo on
    3) Truely provide all necessary resources
    4) Be present during my final Interrogation

Detective Acevedo has my number and knows where to find me.
