Bridgeport Location For No Kings Day Protest

Bridgeport is participating in Saturday’s national No Kings Day protest along the Ash Creek Bridge, 3500 Fairfield Avenue, in Black Rock that connects Bridgeport and Fairfield.

The rally against Trump administration policies is scheduled from noon to 2:30 p.m.

About this event

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.

Our peaceful movement against the Trump agenda is only getting bigger and stronger. The nationwide “NO KINGS” protests in July was born in the streets, carried by millions it from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

We are doing it again across the nation and here in Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, October 18. It will be bigger and more forceful ! We will line up along the street sidewalk in a stationary street protest.

The president thinks his rule is absolute. But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty. Grow our movement and join us at our Bridgeport street protest.

  1. A non-violent protest of those who know that we revolted against an English King more than 250 years ago, approving principles, process, and lore throughout the many years, but keeping our actions more through representation by elected or appointed officials and employees to carry out the ministries we authorize and pay for is scheduled in our area on a BRIDGE between Fairfield and Bridgeport. None of us voted for a leader who would transform presidential responsibilities into the prosecution of those who speak truths not acceptable to him, making allegations with little or no evidence as pretexts for court processes, and infringing on the 1st Amendment right to freely speaking your careful opinions in public. Nor did we vote for legislators who would abdicate their duty to meet and discuss, opinions and facts, and find a way to sustainable budgets for programs that they have endorsed in the past and currently oversee without objections, as a matter of fact with NO PRACTICAL EFFECT for the majority of citizens. Why are we allowing the judicial, legislative, and executive officials to eliminate regulations with no accountability, previous to a plan or information subsequent other than a text, the potential KING candidate never read or referenced, but has studiously pursued? Why do we not engage in Casual Civics Conversations at this time and learn what is yet possible and necessary for each citizen to reflect, decide, and then do? Time will tell.

  2. It smokes and mirrors, John. Trump was democratically-ish elected as president, just like Biden, Obama, Bush, and Clinton.

If Trump was King, would we be behaving the current Casual Civics Conversations of the government shutdown, in spite of the signing and passage of that Great Beautiful Bill?

The Ds are adding him, because they know we can’t keep things going on a credit card. Shit we are closet to a trillion dollar in annual interest on our spending. It’s going to be interesting to see New Yorks, Socialist mayor leads the city. 🙂

The King ship/dictator is the left for Trump as Communism is to the right for Zohran Mamdani. 🙂

democracy/parties, players each need the other, Tony M. to be engage. 🙂

  3. RT,
You ask a good question, “If Trump was King, would we behaving (sic) the current Casual Civics Conversations…”
And I answer this questions, YES, INDEED!!!
I raised the subject of Casual Civics Conversations in early fall 2024, when Biden was President, but Bridgeport voters were laggards at coming to the polls, showing what their responses were to the information they were receiving. And in 2021 I discovered that fewer than 1 in 10 registered voters cast a ballot. Ignoring the right to vote for any reason that is common, though not dire, is a waste of a valuable RIGHT. Ignore your rights for too long and leadership and norms can change.
I have not power in a formal sense. I am not elected to a responsibility. But I do have authority in sharing my opinions of how the current facts and my beliefs mesh. And I have the time and experiences to shape a different narrative than the party occupying the White House and destroying many of the remaining legal positions and guardrails that creates a check on authoritarian rule or maintain a balance among the branches of government.
But I can gather with other citizens at this time in local place that seem open and safe to citizens for a cup of coffee or a bottle of water and conversation about any subject “under the sun”. CIVICS is the study of citizen rights and responsibilities, simply put. The Bill of Rights outlines a basic list and the obligations or duties according to Richard Haass, number ten as well. Perhaps you wish to engage in conversation?
The next CCC gathering is the last Saturday of this month at Fruta, 1000 Lafayette Blvd downtown at 9AM on October 25, 2025 before the City election with Council candidates and Charter approvals on the ballot. Time will tell.

  4. John, not really asking questions, just pointing out the obvious. 🙂 It doesn’t not pay well, provide well without being a trap. 🤣

Not sure why you felt the need to capitalize “YES, INDEED!!! Or if there is a coded subversive meaning to be
QUESTIONED in one’s understanding, decipher based one’s abilities and needs. However, no need for violence, please stop yelling. :

Ture to your words, yes indeed the current Casual Civics Conversations…AKA No King Day Protest would be taking for political engagement, but the real question as they protest is is it genuine of disingenuous?

I am sure the perspective will vary. But as I sated time will tell at the end of Trump elected Kingship has expired. If the kingship is genuine at the protest, there will be more elections, and since we are currently having Casual Civics Conversation of elections the answered to if the No Kings Day Protest is genuine or disingenuous is obvious, No?

  5. John, does that,

” 1 in 10 registered voters cast a ballot. Ignoring the right to vote for any reason that is common, though not dire, is a waste of a valuable RIGHT. Ignore your rights for too long and leadership and norms can change.”

Sun set if left and the Right, the D’s and the R’s, the King ship and Democracy?

When you speak of ” what their responses were to the information they were receiving.” Have you question the means and methods of information dissipation and one’s ability to DECODE IT.

Sorry for yelling, but I wanted to stress my point. 🙂

  6. Perhaps, you have the time and experiences to shape a different narrative than the party occupying the White House and destroying many of the remaining legal positions and guardrails that creates a check on authoritarian rule or maintain a balance among the branches of government. Which is your right and America’s political game to harvest the young minds and future political voters. No

But those checks and balance among the branches of America’s government still remain, No?

Perhaps being tested and stressed, on both sides, in the dominance for political power of democracy where 51% rules king.

Its trans gender female born in nature born male body playing physical sport does not attest to the Americas governance of checks and balance as well as the power of “democracy”

Identity don’t change the fact of nature born body a person is born with. Gay’s males (out of the closet) who behave, dress perhaps different live style as straight males (in the closet) still have that have to play male sports team. So, what is a difference to a male born body who identifies was a female?

If an identify gay male can’t in a female team/league, why is there a Casual Civil Conversation to garner 51% to feel it fair to have transgender female play. How genuine and fair it to nature born female who have to compete when the stars align, and the transgender is to the top her game competing against different nature bone body?

  7. While I have current pressing issue the ‘details” have set fourth, perhaps I will stop buy but expect me to engage in conversation, it’s often is unpleasant. But sides isn’t listing the most important part of a kingship identity. 🙂

Good luck Port, the “details” are going to try to cut you down. 🙂

    And or, right John?

  8. Kings are kings forever, kind of like some of our elected officials in the US House . Some of these folks are pushing 40 Plus years in office. Trump will leave office in 3+years and a new president will be sworn in. If that does not happen then I will join the protests. In the meantime how is it that we keep electing the same people expecting different results?
