Barack Obama, in Connecticut to raise moolah for Dick Blumenthal and company, fired off this eblast today on behalf of Congressman Jim Himes who faces a tough test from Republican Dan Debicella:
In just 20 months, this movement has accomplished a tremendous amount.
But we couldn’t have done it without the Democrats in Congress who were willing to take a stand and fight for policies that would move America forward.
And with so much still left to be done, and too many families struggling to get by, we need to keep America moving forward — which means I need you to support Jim Himes for Congress.
Just like in 2008, you can make the difference this year.
You can go door to door to ask folks to support Jim. You can make calls to voters in your area, and make sure they get to the polls. And you can spread the word about the importance of voting for Jim Himes to your family, friends, and neighbors.
With so much at stake right now, we cannot afford to let up — for one minute or one election.
With your help we developed our Vote 2010 strategy — and with your help, we’ll make sure to send Jim Himes to Washington to fight for you and your district, Connecticut’s 4th.
If Republicans win in November, their agenda is simple: take us backward to the failed policies of the last decade.
They would seek to repeal all the work we’ve done, and try to stop us from doing more.
They’ll fight to repeal health insurance reform that is ensuring a family with a sick child doesn’t worry about an insurance company denying them care when they need it most.
They’ll do everything they can to repeal Wall Street reform that puts you, the consumer, first and prevents big banks from irresponsibly gambling with our savings ever again.
And they’ll work to block our efforts to jump-start a clean-energy economy, reform our broken immigration system, and get more Americans back to work.
We cannot let that happen, and that’s why we all need to fight to get Jim Himes to Washington, to keep America — and Connecticut — moving forward:
Sign up to show your support for Jim:
Thank you,
President Barack Obama
New Debicella ad:
Too bad the common man does not have a chance to see the president on one of his few visits to CT. What a surprise, a $1,000 a plate fundraiser in Greenwich and if you want to sit with the president it costs a cool $30,000.
Read that release from the White House; pure and utter bullshit.
Sure you can get health care for a preexisting condition however the key is can you afford the premium? In one case where a person had a preexisting condition he did now have access to health care, the problem is the premium is $9,000 per year.
Truth be told Himes and most people in congress both Republican & Democrat really do not know what is in the health care bill.
They still don’t get it: JOBS, JOBS, JOBS.
TC
You seem to be a passionate resident of Bridgeport who is up on the daily events.
May I suggest you contact John Gomes and have a chat with him as you seem to be a gentleman who would have interest in the man’s plans for the people of Bridgeport.
TC wouldn’t dare do such a thing. His Town Committee will back Mayor Finch. TC could “Make My Day” if he proves me wrong.
*** Before OIB bloggers get in a tizzy over the President’s CT visit, remember it’s a political fundraiser & it happens in all political parties sooner or later during pre-election time! Besides it’s free for those who want to stand & catch a sight of the black limos as they ride by the “tea-party patriots?” *** Donate to “radical” Debicella for real “right-wing” change! *** What exactly is Gomes’ platform for “positive change” in Bpt and who else endorses it so far? We don’t need more C. Coviellos running for Mayor, etc. … (wink!) ***

Read it Mojo, it’s all there.
Joel You don’t know me very well. I am on the town committee but I am not one of the many sheep on the TC. I will tell you here in print ABF Anybody but Finch.
I do not and I will not support Bill Finch for reelection. I will be looking at both John Gomes and Chris Caruso for mayor.
I am leaning towards Chris Caruso but in fairness I will wait and see what Mr. Gomes has as a campaign platform.
One of the keys for both is going to be how are they going to replace the appointees who keep resurfacing with every new administration.
*** Most of these political ads are one-sided in truth; voters don’t be fooled. Do your own research before you vote! *** What gives with the B.P.A/P.J. Ferry debacle lately & the next city layoffs? *** Inquiring minds would like to know? ***
