Little things mean a lot in government. Alba Rodriguez, long time assistant town clerk, knew that as much as anyone. It’s not easy navigating the Town Clerk’s Office, the keeper of land records, property transfers, licensing, election results and processor of absentee ballots. When someone needed help, big or small, Alba was there to assist. She passed away Monday night after a long illness.
“Alba was a great asset to me especially when I was first elected,” says Town Clerk Alma Maya. “She had a wealth of information that she shared willingly. No one knew election law and rules like Alba. She was a decent, hardworking and honorable woman. I was privileged to have gotten to be her friend. We will miss her every day, especially during elections!”
Calling hours will take place Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue. The funeral will be 10 a.m. at the same location on Friday.
*** Great lady who spoke her mind & was always very helpful when she had the time at the town clerk’s office. Great city employee & friend to the community in general! *** RIP ***
Her smile was a welcome part of my working day when she saw me walk through the door of the Town Clerk’s Office.
Alba was one of the unsung heroes who kept the City of Bridgeport running day to day. A real loss. RIP.
She will be missed.
Alba was as knowledgeable as anyone on the issues related to the Town Clerk’s office. She was considered family by mine and will be missed accordingly. THANK YOU Lennie for taking the time to post this.
