Feds Probe Dem State Party Fundraising

From Jon Lender, Hartford Courant:

The office of the U.S. Attorney is convening a criminal grand jury to investigate claims of illegal fundraising by the state Democratic Party for the benefit of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

Criminal subpoenas have been issued by U.S. prosecutors in recent weeks to a few individuals as part of a federal investigation into Democrats’ funding of Malloy’s 2014 re-election campaign. Recipients have included people who worked for the party during that state election cycle, sources have told The Courant.

On the state level, election regulators recently approved a negotiated settlement in a high-profile civil lawsuit related to campaign emails from Malloy’s 2014 campaign.

  1. Wait a minute, “The Courant had disclosed that Malloy bypassed a security checkpoint at Bradley International Airport last Nov. 27 while carrying an unexamined backpack that his son took on a commercial flight,” now is this Malloy’s son who got in trouble with the law for drugs?

  2. The DOJ should have pursued this much sooner but as they say, better late than never! More DOJ actions are likely in the future in Corrupticut!

        1. Sure, Walker is unaffiliated just like Donald Trump is but they both ran for elective office as Republicans. They want the benefits of using the Republican Party for their own benefit.

          1. Ron and Bob, as I am sure you two highly intelligent men are aware, the Internet can be both entertaining and dangerous for adults and children. On a daily basis I have to make sure I stay on top of what my children are reading and putting out for the world to see. While I want my children to stay in line with their generation, I have taught them there is certain etiquette they should follow and certain etiquette they should also look out for. Here is a little snippet of someone I constantly tell them they should never be like as they come across as being ignorant. I tell them, “don’t be this guy.” I thought I would share it with you two in regards to your constant obsession with trying to discredit Dave Walker. Enjoy gentlemen, and good day!

  3. Good idea, Wingnut. I believe the FBI has deployed forensic proctologists for other cities that have incurred “irregularities” following contentious transitions between regimes. (I wonder if the director of the NY Thruway System will burn any bridges when he leaves that job.)

In the meantime it would be good if our congressional delegation would just allow the racially charged situation in Darien to settle down, and concentrate instead on getting a competent forensic proctologist to get to the bottom of the fiscal discomfort being experienced by the Bridgeport electorate. (I kind of think there is a similar discomfort being shared by the national electorate in this election year.)

  4. Well now, this should be a most interesting investigation, the outcome of which will most probably end up with charges being filed. It never stops in this State, it would be amusing if it weren’t so damned redundant.
