Debate statement from Mary-Jane Foster:

Voters have had enough of both my opponents, who blame each other for everything wrong in Bridgeport instead of accepting responsibility for their actions. Our voters want a hopeful vision going forward.”
“I am very pleased with how Mary-Jane articulated her vision last night. As I go across town, people see her as the honest choice for change,” said Sen. Marilyn Moore (D-22) who, along with Sen. Ed Gomes (D-23), has endorsed Foster for mayor.

Mary-Jane did a good job last night. Though I’m not sure what her vision is, it was never articulated, I did notice during her opening statement she actually asked for the vote, her not being a seasoned politico this impressed me. The fact she supported a conflicted candidate (no need to bring up who) and states conflicts are bad resonates with me. It makes me question her commitment to her comments. Also she never stated her stance or disassociated herself with Charter schools when she had the opportunity. I’d give the debate win to Joe Ganim, as I’ve said many times, the only True Leader in the bunch.
Why is there no need to bring up which one? Seems important, as you have pointed out she might be not as forthright about this issue as she appears.

Excuse my ignorance but is Joe Ganim for or against Charter Schools?
Last time I looked I do not think there were charters way back when he was mayor but we know one way he kept the spending down was not giving a penny more than was required (absent one year).
So maybe Joe is now saying he is against charters (you did not unequivocally state that above), but we know he doesn’t like to spend money on the alternative.
And with all his promises to cut taxes, I imagine that is not going to change.
And please if it does, tell us where the money is coming from; please.
Bob Walsh, I will excuse your ignorance, which is evident by the fact every time I post something that questions your candidate, you come back with “what would your candidate do or say.” In fact some of the things written here aren’t for everybody, but for somebody, pay attention and realize when you have an answer to one of my questions then “that time” it MAY be for you, otherwise assume it’s not. I really don’t have the time or patience to go back and forth like were kids, this here is GROWN FOLKS business.

I’m sorry but where was Joe Ganim when he got of of prison in 2010? Where was he when Finch was trying to take away our right to vote for the BOE? Where was he during Gomes’ special election?
He was in Easton plotting his attempt to get a six-figure job.

Ms. Foster was right when she said “Voters have had enough of both my opponents, who blame each other for everything wrong in Bridgeport.” Mayor Finch has accomplished a few things over the course of two terms but he is guilty of blaming Joseph P. Ganim for everything that is wrong in Bridgeport. Enough of the blame game already, we are sick to death of the finger-pointing. A mayor inherits the problems left over from previous administrations; instead of throwing out “Joe Ganim cost Bridgeport taxpayers $1200 each,” how about you just fix the problems you were confronted with when you assumed the mayoralty? Cut the crap, stop whining, stop blaming others for your ineptitude.
Can we say Bush? Pretty sure this traces back to him.
Hahaha Jennifer. I thought about throwing the Bush jinx out there but then thought “No, someone else will do that.” It wouldn’t surprise me if Tax Bill Finch blamed his ineptitude on an unhappy childhood.
