Restaurants, Bars Prepare For Keno

Despite complaints about delays and secrecy, Connecticut’s first foray into statewide keno gambling could be funded next month and taking bets by spring.

The state’s two gambling-authorized Indian tribes, by all accounts, are on board and don’t plan to seek to block the state’s implementation of keno. The keno plan was adopted as a budget compromise during the waning hours of the recently adjourned General Assembly session.

  1. “Farricker said the lottery board is now considering 600 keno terminals statewide. Earlier reports had indicated that 1,000 terminals were planned. He said OTB, or Off Track Betting, centers and horse racing simulcast facilities are excluded under the legislation.”

    Why the exclusion of parimutuel facilities when they already are licensed and sell lottery products???

    Are they excluded or included to participate?
