The Calzone Case Company, a Bridgeport-based manufacturer, has been selected as a finalist in the Connecticut Business & Industry Association’s (CBIA) “Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut” competition as the only Bridgeport based company in the field.
Founded in 1975, Calzone Case Company has built a reputation for durability, quality and American manufacturing, even being trusted by the US Military. This year, the company’s Go Live Workstation case is among the products competing for the title. The Go Live Workstation case is designed for use across a range of industries, including music, medical, aerospace, military, and technology. The Calzone Case Company produces more than 15,000 cases annually, continuing Bridgeport’s longstanding tradition of manufacturing.

For more than 50 years, they’ve been making products right here in our city that have traveled around the world with some of the biggest names in music. Really incredible. And they’ve continued to grow and innovate, expanded into aerospace, military, and other industries,” stated Mayor Ganim. “We’re proud to have a company like Calzone call Bridgeport home, and we’re proud to support them in this year’s ‘Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut’ competition. Calzone represents the innovation and industrial spirit that’s always been part of Bridgeport.”
Now in its third year, the “Coolest Thing Made in Connecticut” competition is a single elimination, bracket style challenge produced by the CBIA Foundation in partnership with business growth firm CONNSTEP. The competition celebrates the Connecticut manufacturing industry by showcasing the state’s world-class products and the highly skilled workforce behind them.
Calzone Case Company is one of the sixteen products competing for the title, with public voting taking place throughout the competition. First-round voting closes this Wednesday, August 26, 2026, followed by two more rounds of public voting. The winner will be announced on October 1, 2026, at the Made in Connecticut: 2026 Manufacturing Summit. Following the Summit, all sixteen finalists will be featured in a special exhibit at the Connecticut Science Center that kicks off November 5, 2026.
