Bridgeport experienced a historically low violent crime rate in 2025. You’d have to go back to the early 1960s for likewise numbers. Going into 2026 it was natural to ask: will it last?
For the first quarter of 2026 it has, according to comparisons released by Chief Roderick Porter on the PD’s Facebook page.
So far one homicide this year compared to two last year for the same period.
