I’ve received multiple messages regarding flooding concerns inside Bridgeport Correctional on North Avenue. Representative Antonio Felipe and I have reached out to both the Commissioner of the Department of Correction and the State Ombudsman to bring attention to the issue and request a timely review.
The safety and well-being of both staff and incarcerated individuals must be a priority. We’ve asked whether facilities teams or contingency plans are in place should any area of the building become unsafe.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and stay in communication with state officials to ensure conditions are being addressed appropriately.
