From Viktoria Sundqvist, CT News Junkie:
HARTFORD, CT – Eight out of Connecticut’s 36 state senators were present for each of the 437 votes taken in the Connecticut Senate during the 2025 legislative session, thus ending up with perfect voting records this year.
Sen. Paul Honig, D-Harwinton; Sen. Gary Winfield, D-New Haven; Sen. Martin Looney, D-New Haven; Sen. James Maroney, D-Milford; Sen. Martha Marx, D-New London; Sen. Herron Gaston, D-Bridgeport; Sen. Bob Duff, D-Norwalk; and Sen. Ceci Maher, D-Wilton, participated in every vote taken on the Senate floor, according to a report produced after the session by the Office of Legislative Management.
Four Senate Republicans had nearly perfect records, but they each chose to abstain from taking part in one particular vote as a protest. Three of the four also missed one additional vote each.
…Gaston, the deputy president pro tempore, is serving his second term as a senator. He is a pastor and serves as vice president and chief of staff at the University of Bridgeport. In the legislature, he chairs the Public Safety & Security Committee.
“I take no days off because the challenges facing Bridgeport and Stratford are too urgent,” Gaston said. “My 100% voting record reflects an unwavering commitment to ensuring that the voices of my constituents are heard on every issue that impacts their quality of life.”
