“Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?”
The question above that will be on the November ballot would make voting by absentee less restrictive, if approved.
Currently, Connecticut is one of a handful of states requiring excuse-only absentee voting: for instance health condition, out of state, in the military, etc. Approval by voters would empower the state legislature to revamp the rules. If rejected it remains the same.
The community group Bridgeport Generation Now is hosting a forum Oct. 8th, 5:30-7 p.m. at 1119 Main Street, featuring Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas who will address “voting rights, logistics, and the absentee voting question on this year’s ballot, with a Q&A to follow.”

Trump is going to lose, in my opinion
Conspiracy Theory. It would seem the order to kill Trump was to stop him from running/winning another presidency but thst decision was made only after the decision was made for Biden to step down. Trump would have beaten Biden-handedly. mean did you see that debate?
With a Woman taking his placeTrump’s victory was in serious doubt and with the old white man, Biden, out as a backup, Kamala was the first woman to lead the country in its history. Ohio’s flipping for Kamala, Georgia perhaps for Trump. Though in the end, the United would get its first Woman president.
Major domestic issues, like healthcare, will be on the table, who’s Biden’s D’s just ignored it outright. Even foreign policies like the Middle East and the two-state solution for the Arab Palestine sovereignty.
Ironically, A US woman president would deliver/free the Palestinians from apartheid, whose a people and religion, on the extreme side, severely oppressed them. JS

Are we talking AB’s on the ballot? I would say that no excuse AB ballot , as long as their is a way to make it secure. Can not understand how requiring proof that you are qualified to vote in a Presidential or Local election with Proof of ID would hinder people from voting. Saying that some people do not know how, or cannot take the time to get a driver’s licence or some form of government ID is an insult to an entire group of people who some claim are being obstructed from voting. Voter ID protects democracy.
help US Citizens get their credentials squared away, lets help people and make it more convenient to vote while making elections tamper proof. Help non citizens become citizens, many migrants have so much to offer, I get it. I am open minded. Been around Bridgeport a while, over the years AB’s have weighed heavy and have tipped the scales over the years. It is time to tighten all this up this way we know or feel more confident in the results.
